This section specifically covers the Shopytics Chrome Extension ("Extension"), which complements our main Shopytics.io service by providing instant analytics for Shopify stores directly in your browser.
Information Collection - Extension
When you use our Chrome Extension, we collect:
- Domain Names Only: The extension only accesses the domain name of Shopify stores you visit (e.g., "example.myshopify.com")
- No Browsing History: We do not track or store your general browsing activity
- No Personal Data: The extension does not collect names, emails, or any personal information
How the Extension Works
1. You visit a Shopify store
2. Click the Shopytics extension icon
3. The extension sends only the store's domain to our API
4. We return publicly available analytics data about that store
5. Data is displayed in the extension popup
Extension Permissions
The Shopytics Chrome Extension requires minimal permissions:
- activeTab: To detect when you're on a Shopify store
- Host Permissions: To communicate with our API at api.shopytics.io
Chrome Web Store Compliance
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Uninstalling the Extension
You can remove the Shopytics Chrome Extension at any time through Chrome's extension management (chrome://extensions/).
